ADVANTAGES
AND BENEFITS
- Quick and easy
to install (once technique is mastered).
Time saving when adding up the number of fittings required in an average irrigation
installation.
- Mul-T-Flo pipe
fittings can be re-used.
- Do not require
ratchet clamps, tools or glue for installation.
- Colour coded
for quick and easy pipe sizing. The initial sale of the product may take a
couple of minutes longer while you demonstrate the technique but over a period
of time, once the product is widely used, the colour coding will save time
for the store and the customer as the right size fitting will be purchased.
- Price competitive.
When compared to barbed fittings with clamps, Mul-T-Flo pipe fittings extremely
competitive. To convince yourself, you might want to try this comparison in
your area.
- Do not restrict
water flow. Due to the nature of the pipe fitting there is no water restriction
as it holds on the outside of the pipe allowing a full flow of water through
the fitting.
- UV stable /
robust thus making the product highly durable.
- Ultrasonically
welded together (no glue involved in the manufacture process)
- Injection moulded
out of virgin ABS plastic.
- Have been successfully
tested to 6-bar pressure. The fittings were not designed to work at 6-bar
pressure however we felt that because the pressure spec on LDPE pipe is 2.5-3
bars we wanted to test to twice that spec.
- Adjustable.
Once the fitting has been installed it can be adjusted, as it is not fixed
on the pipe.
- Mul-T-Flo pipe
fittings are now available in a full range (13mm, 19mm and 25mm) of tees,
elbows and straight connectors, male-threaded and female-threaded.
- All the working
mechanism of the fitting is internal. As the pressure increases so the bite
of the fitting on the pipe increases.
- Mul-T-Flo has
been sold successfully on the international market for the last 12 years.
ANSWERS
TO NEGETIVE POINTS:
“The fittings are
to hard to install”
• A little more practice.
• The pipe is not made to Australian standards.
• The pipe is not cut straight.
“The fittings are
hard to install in small tight places”
• The promotional
media specifically illustrates an installation of the fittings in a small tight
place in the ground. This is to prove that it is easy to do and just requires
a knowledge and understanding of technique.
“The fittings are
expensive”
• Simply
make the price comparison that you have already done, remembering to add in
the price of the ratchet clamps. So far, there is only one store in Australia
which is buying ratchet clamps and poly fittings cheaper.
